Testimonials in 2007: What our clients love about travelling with Hanuman
Ana Kilkowski & Brian Higgins ( UK) December 2007
Our guide – Kimlieng – packed as much as possible to fit in with our limited time. She was extremely informative and sensitive. Her delightful manner and good humour were charming. The S21 Museum and killing fields were very moving. The Wat Phnom temple was fascinating, also enjoyed the Royal palace and Museum. A very good car and excellent driver too. Everything was perfect.

Christopher Perna ( UK) December 2007
We thought the tour was well thought out, varied and took in the main sights of Phnom Penh. Our guide – Chamroeun – was very knowledgeable, helpful and willing at all times. We had a wonderful day! Phnom Penh is an emerging city – very busy, hectic and frenetic – hopefully coming out of a very difficult time!

Graham Boardman ( UK) December 2007
The visit to the Royal Palace was really interesting and very beautiful. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the tour interesting. The driver was also very attentive.

V Vasanthan ( UK) December 2007
The tour was comprehensive, included all the major sights and gave relevant background. The Killing Fields and S-21 were handled with sensitivity.

P & M Morgan ( UK) December 2007
Varied, interesting and informative and very knowledgeable guide. The drive through the countryside to Kompong Thom was wonderful. Although the Genocide Museum was horrific, it did give us an unfortunate perspective to the recent history of Cambodia.

David & Veronica Busby ( UK) December 2007
The variety it involved, it was a combination of what was enjoyable, informative and educational – we learnt a lot about Cambodia – and this we appreciated very much. Our guide – Rith - was extremely knowledgeable and helpful at all times.

Lynn Scott ( UK) December 2007
The choice of places we visited, the knowledge of our guide – Ponlork – the quality of his English speaking and his ability to understand what information/facts we were interested in hearing about made a long day, a very informative one.

Group from Himalayan Kingdoms ( UK) November 2007
We very much enjoyed the country – meeting the people, seeing the way of life, ordinary Cambodians especially in the more remote areas. We very much appreciated the service provided by the guide and drivers – who were all extremely courteous and considerate.

Joan Conway (USA) November 2007
Monira was a wonderful, informative, helpful and charming guide. The Genocide Museum was difficult to see but very important in helping us to learn more about Cambodia.

Victoria Wilson ( UK) November 2007
Full day tour of Phnom Penh was very good. Architecture and history all very interesting. Knowledge and explanation from guide as well as his English were also excellent. We also enjoyed the trip between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap which gave us a real look at everyday Cambodia.

Joe Seifert ( UK) November 2007
Guide was very good, friendly, polite and very knowledgeable. Very flexible in terms of sights and times.

Tina Tamman ( UK) November 2007
We were met on time everywhere. Cambodia is a wonderful country. Ponlork is a very good guide – we benefited from talking to him.

Brian Hoskin ( UK) November 2007
Very good choice of sites to visit. Excellent guide – Kimlieng is the best we have had.

Richard Livesey-Haworth ( UK) November 2007
The detailed knowledge of our tour guide; the personal and friendly approach of all staff; nothing was too much trouble.

Duncan Livingston ( UK) November 2007
Very good guide, very informative and sensitive tour of the Genocide Museum. Flexible too, he arranged changes to our programme to take account of our progress.

Brittany Kaiser ( UK) November 2007
I loved the amazing temples we saw and getting to interact with the local villages. I didn’t like the bumpy roads – but it was fun!

Angela Bruce ( New Zealand) October 2007
Our tour guide, Pol, was very informative. Our group really enjoyed travelling by remorque, rather than bus. Excellent meals, especially at FCC and Khmer Kitchen.

Alun Owen ( UK) October 2007
The highlight of the tour was the Royal Palace. The tour of the Genocide Museum and Killing Fields were very sad but it is necessary for anyone visiting Cambodia. Our guide – Chamroeun – was excellent, we were very impressed with him. The driver was also very helpful and polite.

Carol Haslam ( UK) October 2007
The hotel was quite spectacular – one of the best in SE Asia. We enjoyed the Royal Palace and National Museum. The Genocide Museum was distressing but important, as were the Killing Fields. The visit to Pour un Sourire d’Enfant project was very rewarding. Our guide was well informed and helpful with good English. The driver was most careful on difficult roads.

L & J Booth (Australia) October 2007
Very personalized tour from as soon as we arrived in Phnom Penh. Very interesting information including the history of Cambodia. Lieng is a special person – she is delightful to speak to as well as letting us know about the city. We were very happy with everything – excellent guide, driver and full service all day. We will come back again!

B Trimmer & C Benkaim (USA) October 2007
Our guide, Chamroeun, really made the day – he helped form our itinerary to fit the day – he was very very knowledgeable! Our airport pick-up was flawless, the guide was always available and on time and the drivers seemed calm and relaxed.

Tracy Rabin & Jeremy Schwartz ( USA) September 2007
The most amazing thing about our tour was the wealth of knowledge that our guide, Tra, had to share about Khmer history, art, architecture and religion! Additionally, we were very pleased with the variety of tour options offered by the company and the ease with which we were able to custom design our trip. We would highly recommend the boat trip to the fishing villages as a nice addition to the days of temple touring. We had a fantastic experience!

Paul Brown ( UK) September 2007
The hotel was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. The guide, Tra, was also excellent. He recognised the pace we wanted to go round the temples and adjusted his timetable as we went along. He didn’t try and force us into tourist sales areas – well done!

Brian Pound (Canada) September 2007
A geat trip with two great guys. Eak was a superb guide and told the story of the prison and killing fields with much emotion and knowledge. The driver, Vutha, deserves a medal for the way he manoeuvred the car through the traffic! Keep up the good work.
In Siem Reap, the driver and tour guide, Oth, made the trip so enjoyable – they were marvellous.

David Botta ( Australia) September 2007
Our guide and driver were very careful, obliging and helpful. We had a great time.

P Bates (UK) August 2007
Our guide was excellent – very well informed with local knowledge and provided useful and interesting information. Also very good spoken English and flexible to change the schedule to suit our needs.

M&M Spiers ( Australia) August 2007
The organisation was well communicated, punctual and no pressure was made to keep to a strict time-table, which made the excursions very relaxed. Our guide, Meanly, was very well informed and a pleasant personality.

Stephen Campitelli ( USA) August 2007
The tour was well planned with a good selection of places to visit and a helpful guide and driver.

A French (UK) August 2007
The promptness of all our guides and drivers – they were always on time. Everything was really good.

I loved the amazing temples of Angkor and the brilliant, delightful and very knowledgeable tour guide, Ohm! The tour was excellent.

Bob & Catriona Barker (UK) August 2007
We liked the Bayon and River of 1,000 Lingas the best. Our guide was very good in knowledge and answering our questions. Good, friendly hotel.

Deborah Loftus & Simon Hudson (UK) August 2007
The pace of visiting many temples in the heat was just right. Very thoughtful and considered. The guide’s English was very good and he was very informative about Angkor and Cambodia in general. The tour and guide and hotel were all excellent, just wish we had had more time to see Cambodia.

V A Keenan (UK) August 2007
I changed my itinerary twice and on both occasions your staff were outstandingly helpful – nothing was too much trouble for them, they made everything run smoothly for me, which is particularly nice if you are travelling alone. It is always difficult to single out one guide, when they have all been efficient, charming, interesting and courteous, but Panya, my guide in Siem Reap, deserves special praise, both as a guide and as a person. He made me feel (as I am sure he does to everyone) that I was not just another tourist. I noticed that he always stopped to explain things when we were in the shade (very important!), unlike many of the other guides. Also, when there were crowds he always took a different route, and it seemed to me, a better one, so that everything was quieter and I could get better pictures. He has naturally good manners and it was a pleasure to have lunch with him every day.

Seys Arseen & Tanghe Leen (Belgium) August 2007
Good and timely organization and service of Hanuman Tourism; well scheduled trip; very good guide, helpful, friendly; good, safe driver; excellent stay at HanumanAlaya.

Trisha Batros ( Australia) July 2007
We found the driver and guide very friendly and approachable. Tra knew so much information about the temples and the history of the country. Our days were not rushed and our knowledge was greatly enhanced.

William Mailey & Rita Preece (UK) July 2007
The personal service of the guide and driver – they couldn’t have done anymore for us – both were excellent.

Alesandro Ferrant (Spain) July 2007
The temples, the hotel, the city, the food and the service – everything was just perfect. The guide and driver did a great job.

Mari Pei (Singapore) July 2007
We were lucky to have a tour guide like Mr Till for our first visit to Cambodia. He was always smiling and was very kind. He took care of my children very well. I hope we’ll have him again next time!

Yvonne & Damien Tonks (Australia) July 2007
We liked everything! Our tour guide, Wess, was so knowledgeable, insightful, welcoming and friendly. The temples were majestic and inspiring places to visit. Our driver was courteous and efficient. Thank you so much for a wonderful and memorable experience.

Antonio Martinez (Spain) July 2007
The itinerary and how friendly the people are, are what we liked best. Even we have been very surprised about the quality of the services we have used. It’s amazing to see that after the end of the war, that tourism is reaching a high level of service. Other countries have a longer tradition and the services are very poor, especially the attitude.

Kathleen Suda (USA) July 2007
We liked the temples, air-conditioned cars and the flexibility of our tour guide, who was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

The PEPY Team July 2007
Dear Hanuman,
The past year has been full of achievements for us here at PEPY. In October we finally moved into our first office, and now have a full house of interns and Cambodian staff. Since December of last year we have completed 7 successful tours, raising substantial funds for our educational programs. We’re excited for the month ahead when our library’s new roof will be completed at the PEPY Ride School and over 1,000 books will be delivered for our Road to Literacy program. These books, in both Khmer and English, are an important addition to our educational programs. In addition, we are expanding The Bike to School Program to our newest school in Steung Treng province, and will be providing bikes to over 120 students in the new year. These children will now have access to a wealth of knowledge that has never been available to them in the past.
This was made possible due to your support as well as a few of our inspirational volunteers. We have especially enjoyed working with the Hanuman team this past year. Your services and advice have helped PEPY lead successful tours for our volunteers. Your confidence in our small organization is what keeps it running, providing opportunities for countless individuals to not only enjoy the Cambodian countryside by bike, but also to discover their individual power to make a difference.

Steffie Meier (Czech Republic) July 2007
We enjoyed the good English skills and flexibility of our guide, Mr Savuth, and the program which allowed us leisure time at the beautiful Hanuman Alaya hotel.

Sean & Sue Power (Switzerland) July 2007

Timothy Robinson (UK) July 2007
Mr Chamroeun was one of the best guides we have ever had. He was polite, patient, understanding and thoughtful – we cannot fault him. He was sensitive to our needs, flexible when we wanted to change things and prepared to tell us as much as we wanted to know. His English was excellent and with his help, our short visit to Phnom Penh is something that we will never forget. He was very knowledgeable and a wonderful person. The entire family thought the tour was excellent and enjoyed it all.

Jane Moon (UK) July 2007

We liked the variety of activities. Enjoyed learning about Cambodian history from our guide, Eak. Loved the elephants and overnight camp – great food. Great service, organization and impressive driving. Great guide and driver.

The Hayes Family (Singapore) June 2007
The tour was well planned, with a good size break in the middle of the day to allow for ‘re-charging’ especially in the hot weather. Very knowledgeable tour guide on archaeological sites, local politics and standards of behaviour required on site, etc. The ancient sites were wonderful! And lived up to expectations. The tour was great.

Susan & Steve Wildman (Singapore) June 2007
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Transportation was comfortable and cold water was appreciated.

Grant & Alison Burgoyne (Australia) June 2007
The personal and very professional people – both the guide and the driver were always attentive and careful with every facet of the tour. They were always cheerful and informative – the guide spoke excellent English which made it easier to understand everything. All the meals were well served and tasted excellent. There was not a single thing we would change or did not like.

Julian Sheldan (UK) May 2007
The magical temples of Angkor, combined with the in depth knowledge of the guides and the relaxed air of Battambang were our highlights. We loved our time in Phnom Penh. We’ll come back. Everyone is so courteous and friendly. We were very impressed with Cambodia.

Carol Garrison & Graham Lee (UK) April 2007
Leang, our guide, approached our tour with tireless enthusiasm and managed to show us all sides of Phnom Penh in one day. She is clearly extremely knowledgeable, very attentive and a pleasure to be with. Our driver was careful, safe and attentive to our needs. A great team! We can’t imagine how your service could be improved.

Anne Blair (Canada) March 2007
Monira was a very knowledgeable guide, her encouragement and support of Cambodian youth was appreciated at the restaurants we were taken to and the dance school. She shared daily life with us as well as historical facts. We wish her good luck and we hope Cambodia continues to prosper.

Judith Stephens (UK) March 2007
Visiting the prison and the killing fields we were given as much time and information as we wanted. Made more poignant by the fact that our guide, Rith, was personally affected by the Pol Pot regime. Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda and gardens were beautiful.

The tour was jam-packed with sight-seeing, activities and provided a wonderful view of Phnom Penh.

Mike Shu (Japan) March 2007
The guide Ms Nara was so informative and friendly. She is very knowledgeable and explained things clearly. It helped so much to have her guide us and explain things about Khmer culture. She is also a great language tutor! We learned a lot of fun Khmer from her. Too much to see and not enough time!

Preah Vihear by torchlight is amazing (and in daylight). All guides and driver were excellent. An excellent trip, we’ll be back. Thank you all.

Linda Gartz & Bill Lasko (USA) February 2007
We, of course, loved seeing the wonderful temples of Angkor and getting such excellent background on the history, myths, stories, and symbolism of the temples. Pol Rith has a great sense of humor which added to our enjoyment of his company. Pol Rith is also a fount of knowledge of Cambodia’s history, politics, animal & plant life, and the culture of the Cambodia people. He was great! We also felt the service was excellent and the tour was well-planned. We appreciated both Hanuman’s & Pol Rith’s flexibility in adding some additional stops to our trip. Accommodations are outstanding.

David Kerwin, Chicago (USA) February 2007
The kindness & knowledge of the guides. They went out of their way to make my trip great. I include Pol my driver in this. Both were very professional, knowledgeable and kind.

Anouh Langahoor & Pratap Goonerdine (Singapore) January 2007
The tour was extremely well arranged adding us to visit all the places of particular interest to our experience of Cambodia. It was largely enhanced by the expert guidance of Suvan who has tremendous knowledge coupled with enthusiasm and readiness to accommodate all our needs. Drivers & Sim were also extremely courteous & helpful adding to enjoyment of the tour.

Lynn Williams (USA) January 2007
The tour was marvellous, our guide kind and knowledgeable and our driver sympathetic. We had a wonderful time.
