32 year old Souk hails from Luang Prabang and is married. He’s been a tour guide for the past seven years and before that was an accountant. He loves snooker and football as his pastimes and enjoys all types of Asian food.

Mana Phuangbounmi

Mana, 29, is married and worked with NGOs including UXO before becoming a guide in 2001. He’s a big fan of Luang Prabang and enjoys the gym, swimming and tennis. Mana would love to visit the USA or UK though he would miss his favourite Lao food and beer.

Khamfhan Bounpanya

32 year old, Fhan is married with 1 son. He was a Buddhist monk for 9 years and worked at a hotel for another four years before becoming a tour guide a decade ago. Visiting Buddhist pagodas is not surprisingly at the top of his preferences, along with Laap Pa (fish salad) and he also enjoys yoga and basketball.

Sengphone Phimithavong

Phone has been guiding Hanuman clients for nearly eight years having started guiding after graduation. Now 34 years old, married with 3 children, his preferred highlights of Laos are the forested areas in the north where he was born. Cycling and petanque head his sports list whilst Sin Dad (BBQ) and Beer Laos are his preferred restaurant favourites.

Vilasack Seunphanh

Dard is another to hail from Luang Prabang, though he loves the idea of visiting Switzerland as he’s a big fan of the natural environment. 38 years old, Yoga and basketball are his sports, whilst Laap Pa (fish salad) is his food of choice. Married with 2 children, he worked as a manager of a guesthouse before taking up tour guiding in 1995.
 
  Toui Dalavong  
Toui Dalavong

Toui was a hotel receptionist before becoming a tour guide in 2006. Now 25 years old he was born in Luang Prabang and is married with one son. He loves his hometown but if given the opportunity, would jump at a visit to America. He enjoys football and table tennis , as well as all types of Lao food.
 
  Vongsavanh Chansomphou  
Vongsavanh Chansomphou

At 47, Khong is one of our more experienced tour guides, hails from Pakse, is married with 2 daughters. He worked in banking before becoming a tour guide in 2000. His loyalties are split between Luang Prabang and Wat Phu as his favoured locations, whilst Laap Pa and Beer Laos and football and tennis are also on his ‘best of’ list.
 
  Viengsavanh Khounsavath  
Viengsavanh Khounsavath

Vieng, 32 years old, is married with 1 son and born in Luang Prabang. His favourite place in Laos is the Bolaven Plateau, his best past-time is badminton, he enjoys a meal of friend riverweed washed down with Beer Lao and the UK is top of his wish list places to visit. Before becoming a guide in 2004 he was a teacher in the Armed Forces.

Oudong Phanthavong

Don was a teacher and journalist before taking up guiding in 2004. Now 32 years old, married with 1 child, he was born in Luang Prabang and enjoys a game of volleyball, a bowl of noodle soup and would love the chance to visit the USA.
 
  Sakhone Phackdy  
Sakhone Phackdy

Sak became a guide in 2000, loves Laap Pa and Lao coffee, likes to jog and cycle and is looking forward to the day he can visit Angkor Wat in Cambodia. 31 years old, he’s married and was born in Ubon in Thailand.
